Apr 10: Teapot & Co.

Hello again,
In one of my past posts I told you that I had been to many garage sales and had bought multiple things including a teapot.

The very last sale that I went to had a whole lot of pink and white chinaware. When I got there they still had 40-45 pieces left all semi matching as they didn't have the same patterns. It took me so long to decide if I had enough room to buy anything and what I wanted to by. I ended up buying the teapot with a matching sugar bowl. I really wanted to get to salt and pepper shakers as well but they didn't match at all. After I have bought them the lady who was selling them gave me the egg cups as well because I liked everything so much and she was happy that they were going to a good home. It was such a sweet thing for her to do and I am so grateful.

The teapot is literally the most beautiful thing ever. It has some hot water damage on the inside but I love it. It is Adams English Scenery in pink.

I hope enjoyed this post.
Until next time,
Liana xx

Apr 6: Guess who's back?

Oh hey guys,
remember how in yesterdays post I was having a fight with my camera. Well that has been solved *yay* And this is the post that they were going to go with. Also I'm doing a whole separate post on the teapot and co.

~~***~~

Hello all,
I'm back, and I brought a whole lot of shopping with me. I didn't even go to anywhere that is known for having shops. I when to a relatively small beach side town that has twice as many cafes as it does other shops. Around there Easter Saturday is when every man and his dog have a garage sale. Some of them sell utter rubbish but at others you can get some pretty good finds.
I bought a lovely stack of clothes for $10

I bought two long sleeve tops. One is the size of a tent and is from cotton on and the brown one is from Luvalot. I really like that one.

I got two tops that are sheer. The dark grey one was originally from Cotton On and the light pink one from Quirky Circus. The pink one is my favourite piece of clothing I bought, I saw it and instantly fell in love.

Two striped tops both from Cotton On Body. I will probably were them as pajama tops. The white and navy one is cropped.

Three plain tank tops. The navy one is from Cotton On Body and has lace detailing. The orange and olive green are from ASOS.

And lastly for clothes this thick woolen jacket from Katies

I also bought a few of miscellaneous things.
Some wooden black and white painted chop sticks with images of bamboo on the sides.
That I got for $1.

And lucky last I got a long/short (I can change it) necklace with a gorgeous flat stone for 50c. Bargain. Plus it is so pretty and swirly

Until next time,
Liana xx

P.S. part 2 is coming soon :D

Mar 27: forgotten photos + OOTD

Oh hey people I haven't talked to for a while,
How are you? (you are not obliged to answer, though I do like comments *hint hint*)

I just realised that I took photos for you over the weekend and I haven't had time to put them into a post yet. (That may have been caused by a classics essay/test/extended response thing, it don't really know what it is)

Subject: Outfit of the day (OOTD)
Date: Sunday
Who: Myself and best friend Erin (who is yet to be mentioned)
For: Brunch (defined as either the meal between breakfast and lunch or as a combination of them both resulting in the need for neither).
We both had half breakfasts, which for me was more than what I normally eat for breakfast, consisting of 1 egg (fried sunny side up), a piece of toast, the best hash brown we have ever tasted, some mushrooms cooked in something, a cooked tomato (+ her's because she doesn't like them) and bacon because you can't have enough bacon (well you probably definitely could). I also had a chai latte and a pot of tea though not at the same time, that would be weird.
Weather: Sort of cold but not cold enough for a jacket but not warm enough for a dress. luke warm? mild? balmy? overcast?

Anyway onto more pressing matters,  I am wearing:
Shear floaty dress that I am wearing as a shift top/tunic (I think it was handmade as there are no tags and I bought it from a little boutique) over dark wash jeans, belted with an old belt found at my aunts house and layered necklaces (I wear these all the time. they will make regular appearances)
Sunglasses I bought a year(?) ago for $20 at some shop, but I love them as they are sort of retro and have a heart in the center.

So... these photos may or may not have been taken in my parents bathroom *shifty eyes*
What? I like the colour of the walls... don't judge me...

Until next time,
(which will probably be after Easter, in which case HAPPY EASTER!!)

Mar 23: The letter 'L'

Tonight I went to my youth leader and mentor's 21st birthday party. She is the most amazing and joyful person I have ever met and I don't know what or where I would be without her.
It was a themed costume party, centered around the first letter of her name 'L'.
It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to go as. I like being original and too be honest there were already so many leopard and lady bugs that they didn't need anymore.
In the end I went as a french moon 'la lune'.

I borrowed a white dress off my friend, and put a sheer white top underneath to keep me warm(er). I paired that with white tights and a silver piece of material that I tied around my waist. I also wore a red beret and curled my hair to look a bit more french.

I completed the costume with a white piece of cardboard cut in a circular shape and decorated to look like a moon. My shoes are little vintage styled blush coloured heels bought at a local store.
Over all I kept my makeup very simple and fresh, with a brilliant red lipstick that matched my hat and winged eyeliner.

I had loads of fun and it was great to be able to sit down and just chat with everyone.

Until next time,
Liana xx

P.S this was supposed to go up this morning but I am lazy, and was running late.

Mar 17: OOTD

Why Hello! Long time no blog.
Quick little post today, I've got a tonne of homework to do because I had a mental health day yesterday.
I went to my sister's soccer match this morning wearing a super cute summer/autumn transition outfit. Where the world would be without faux fur vest, I don't know. I LOVE mine, though admittedly this is the first time I've had the chance to wear it.
The weather in Melbourne has been ridiculously hot. 32 degrees (Celsius) is considered nice, 28 is cold enough for a jumper, and most days are 35+. Today was one of those rare days when it was only 22 (Yay!). So naturally I broke out the jeans, long sleeve tops and scarfs.

I am wearing dark wash skinny jeans, a grey thin knit sweater, a fur vest and a rainbow scarf. I also wore brown calf high boots. Cozy and comfy and fantastic for a lazy Sunday.

I hope you all had a good weekend.
Until next time,
Liana xx

PS. *guilty face* Sorry about the lighting, I couldn't be bothered getting out the tripod and there are very few placed to sit my camera in my room.

Feb 17: if necessary use words

Hello,
I have been a very busy little bee these past few days.

Friday I had a study skills seminar at Swinburne Uni. I learn a lot of things that I can use to get the best score I can this year, including how to take notes, when to study, how to study etc. The boring but useful stuff really. I think I might do a blog post on what I intend on doing study and school wise, if it isn't to boring. I did get to see some people who I haven't seen in a while, which was fantastic.
Also on Friday night my youth leaders asked me to host/lead our C.O.W. (change our would) night in a months time. I need to come up with a subject for discussion by this coming Friday, it shouldn't be too hard. I'm going to ask around an see if anyone else ha any ideas. If you guys have any ideas please leave them in the comments :)

Yesterday my family took a beach trip to Rosebud to not only make good use of the fantastic weather we have had for the past 2 weeks, but to visit my uncle and aunt, their 'new' dog, son and grandson. New meaning four years old but we haven't been down to see them in that long we haven't met her. They are part of the Mcray yacht club who were running a race that day which was really nice to watch while we had a little dip. We had fish and chips for dinner on the beach, I say on the beach I really mean on the yacht club balcony, while watching the sun set over the water. We took their dog Poppy for a walk along the beach to burn it off. It was an amazing day. We go there for a late lunch and stayed until after night fall and got back at 10pm.

Today was pretty boring. Way to hot to do anything. My darling sister was very cranky; she doesn't do well in the heat. We also went to my sister's church to listen to a guy (Ian McCormack) speak about his life and give his testimony about how he came to know god when he died 30 odd years ago. A really incredible and interesting story. And don't worry I'm not going to get all preachy with you, but it is a part of my life however I believe that actions speak louder than words and in this case: "Preach the gospel. If necessary use words"

I hope you had a nice weekend.
Until next time,
Liana xx

Feb 2: Unexciting

Hello,
Today is Saturday which means for most people they can sleep in, read books, play sport etc. but not me. I have homework and house work to do. So this means my day was very unexciting.

However I am now on bloglovin. Woohoo!

Feb 1: Don't cry over spilt... pasta?!?

So the past couple of days have been really full on, but first of all Happy February!!
Yesterday was my last first day of high school which was kind of scary but really awesome at the same time. I got lost a few times on my way to new class rooms and met some new people who have just transferred to my school, one of them being this really cute guy in my english class but shh.
I've already go homework and it's only been two days including a test on Monday, yay!

But right now I'm going to get stuck into the weekend.

But the real reason this post is going up today is because from about six last night to ten thirty which is like four hours!! We had no power which made cooking so hard but luckily we have a gas stove. We had about fifteen candles lit in our house including a few in my parents new en suite. We didn't burn the house down which is a good sign.
Cooking by Candlelight

But of course the first thing I did while cooking dinner was to take a picture of my sister cooking and put it on my instagram (at)lianam216

Today was also pretty dramatic. As last night we had issue with the power this morning was really rushed and I had to go to school without makeup on, not even mascara which is something I hardly ever do.
I had to look after my baby brother to night and while I was getting my dinner ready he accidentally dropped his bowl of pasta on the ground and spilt  it everywhere. He burst into tears and stood there crying. It was heart breaking. I felt terrible and it wasn't even my fault. Me and the dog cleaned up the mess and I made him more food (toast pizza) and everything was good.
It reminded me that sometimes we get worked up over little things, when say emotions are running high or you're hungry or tired, that are really not that big which not only has it had an effect on you but also people around you without you realizing.

Until next time,
Liana xx
