Apr 28: Stay Out

Hello,
So at the moment I am planning my 18th birthday. The most nerve racking thing about it is sending out a save the date message and actually deciding who is invited.
I now have a guest list of 40ish, some of which have their year 12 formal but are trying to come anyway, and some of which who are more likely to go to another one of their friends party. Not that I care that much, most of them I only invited because I would feel bad if I didn't but I'm not 100% sure I want them there. I hate the guilty consensus thing I have going on here, thought there isn't really much I can do about that. Oh well. I guess I will just have to live with it.

The other dilemma I have come across it choosing who's birthday to go to. I have two relatively close friends who's party is on the same night. One of them is only inviting a few people and the other has fifty plus.
I have no idea what to do and it sucks.

In the mean time I'm going to listen to this song and forget I have school tomorrow morning

Until next time,
Liana xx
P.S is it just me or are these post getting shorter.
P.P.S I'm sorry this has no content :( or pictures

Apr 25: Lest We Forget

Hey all,

Today in Australia and New Zealand it is ANZAC day. A day where we commemorate those lost in war. It marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major causalities.
World War I was the first war for Australian and New Zealand as independent countries.
On the 25th of April in 1915 Australian and New Zealand troops landed their ships to the shores of Gallipoli and met a strong resistance from the Ottoman Army. Their aim was to take Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire. What was originally was a bold move turned into a stalemate. The battle of Gallipoli went on for eight months and both sides lost a lot of men. At the end of 1915 the Allies were forced to evacuate.

This battle was the founding point of the 'Anzac legend'. One of the of the most well known story is of Simpson and his donkey. Simpson was a stretcher bearer at Gallipoli. when he got there he found a donkey on the beach after having previously been carrying wounded British Empire soldiers over his shoulders from the frontline to the beach. The donkey was given a red cross band the was tied around his mussel. He was often known to be singing or whistling as he traveled down the hill side. He continued transporting soldiers with the help of the donkey for about three and a half weeks often under fire before being killed by machine gun fire. There is a myth that he rescued 300 soldiers in this time though it is highly unlikely as the trip from the frontline to the beach is a long one.

With symbolic to the dawn landing in Gallipoli, a dawn stand-to or ceromony has become the most common form of ANZAC day remembrance since the mid 1920's. Nowadays families and young people are encouraged to attend dawn services. The services in Australian's capital cities generally have large turn out every year.
The dawn services now containing the following features: an introduction, hymn, prayer, an address, laying of wreaths, recitation, the playing of the Last Post, a minute of silence, Reveille, and the playing of both the New Zealand and Australian national anthems.
In Australia we wear sprigs of rosemary on our lapels and place an artificial red poppy beside names of relatives.
There is also a dawn service in Turkey every year.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them nor the years Condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them
LEST WE FORGET

Until Next time,

Apr 17: Stolen Shoes

Oh hey guys,
I am now back at school after a two and a half week Easter holiday break. Thank you Good Friday, Student Free day and Parent Teacher interviews.
Today was my first day back. I was late, like usual, it seems that the holidays have put me into a really bad sleeping pattern consisting of really late nights and not getting up until after noon.
One thing that did not help me was starting the day with maths first thing. It made me brain-dead for the rest of the day. However I did get my year 12 jumper today, a whole term after all the other schools in my area. It turned out to be a good day. I only had three periods so I got to go home at lunch, only to go home to do homework but that is fine with me. It is warm here.
I am just about to go out to a casual gathering with my friends from my youth group. A pizza and pasta night.
One guess as to what I am wearing. If you guessed my new school jumper, jeans, my brother's canvas shoes and a panda beanie you would be right. I'm feeling really lazy okay, don't judge me.

Sorry this is so short and has no pictures.
Until next time,
Liana xx

Apr 10: Teapot & Co.

Hello again,
In one of my past posts I told you that I had been to many garage sales and had bought multiple things including a teapot.

The very last sale that I went to had a whole lot of pink and white chinaware. When I got there they still had 40-45 pieces left all semi matching as they didn't have the same patterns. It took me so long to decide if I had enough room to buy anything and what I wanted to by. I ended up buying the teapot with a matching sugar bowl. I really wanted to get to salt and pepper shakers as well but they didn't match at all. After I have bought them the lady who was selling them gave me the egg cups as well because I liked everything so much and she was happy that they were going to a good home. It was such a sweet thing for her to do and I am so grateful.

The teapot is literally the most beautiful thing ever. It has some hot water damage on the inside but I love it. It is Adams English Scenery in pink.

I hope enjoyed this post.
Until next time,
Liana xx

Apr 7: 21 Days of...

Today I am pledging to you and the internet that I will do 21 days of being healthy.
Today is Day 1.

There is a myth that it takes a person 21 days to form a new habit. I don't believe that by just doing everyday for 21 days is going to make it a habit, I believe that in 21 (or more but 21 is a good number) days it will have worked it's way into your scheduled not in a ohh-I-don't-need-to-think-about-it-to-do-it-I-just-do-it-naturally way but in a it's-on-my-daily-list-of-things-to-do-today sort of way.
I have heard of multiple different ways people use this theory. Some have a bracelet that they swap from hand to hand if they break the rules they set for themselves, others have little sticky notes on a door frame that they take one off everyday they complete the tasks.

My goals for these 21 days are:
1. Eat healthy: I'm definitely not going on a diet, I don't like them. I am just striving for a balanced diet of about 80% good foods and 20% not so great food (but not crisps and soft drinks). I want to eat less carbs and more meat, fruit and veggies, and I also want to get out of the habit of eating when I am bored because that is doing nothing for me. I am also going to keep a food journal as then if I do eat something bad I feel guilty about it because I have to write it down.
2. Do 45+ minutes of exercise per day (not including walking to and from school): I have been researching different types ways to exercise so that I have a wide range of things to do because I get bored easily if I do the same thing over and over again. So I want to make it fun and I want to be happy with what I am doing and with myself.
3. Drink water: This is important because a) it keeps me hydrated and b) because when I am at home all day I never drink enough water I always forget compared to when I am at school or out I drink 3-5 600mL bottles of water every day (I barely drink 1 when at home).

There isn't really anything else to add to that apart from stay healthy.
Until next time,
Liana xx

Apr 6: Guess who's back?

Oh hey guys,
remember how in yesterdays post I was having a fight with my camera. Well that has been solved *yay* And this is the post that they were going to go with. Also I'm doing a whole separate post on the teapot and co.

~~***~~

Hello all,
I'm back, and I brought a whole lot of shopping with me. I didn't even go to anywhere that is known for having shops. I when to a relatively small beach side town that has twice as many cafes as it does other shops. Around there Easter Saturday is when every man and his dog have a garage sale. Some of them sell utter rubbish but at others you can get some pretty good finds.
I bought a lovely stack of clothes for $10

I bought two long sleeve tops. One is the size of a tent and is from cotton on and the brown one is from Luvalot. I really like that one.

I got two tops that are sheer. The dark grey one was originally from Cotton On and the light pink one from Quirky Circus. The pink one is my favourite piece of clothing I bought, I saw it and instantly fell in love.

Two striped tops both from Cotton On Body. I will probably were them as pajama tops. The white and navy one is cropped.

Three plain tank tops. The navy one is from Cotton On Body and has lace detailing. The orange and olive green are from ASOS.

And lastly for clothes this thick woolen jacket from Katies

I also bought a few of miscellaneous things.
Some wooden black and white painted chop sticks with images of bamboo on the sides.
That I got for $1.

And lucky last I got a long/short (I can change it) necklace with a gorgeous flat stone for 50c. Bargain. Plus it is so pretty and swirly

Until next time,
Liana xx

P.S. part 2 is coming soon :D

Apr 5: Technology is NOT my friend

Has anyone ever been in the situation when technology just doesn't work for you? Because that is exactly what is happening to me right now.
My camera isn't being a very helpful friend at the moment and I have a number of post planned because I know next week is going to be busy as I am busy all the time an the one time I'm not my camera gets mad at me. What did I do? *sad face*
Camera: I renounce our friendship

If you read my last few posts you would know that I went away to my beach house over Easter. It's sort of a tradition to go to as many garage sales as possible on the Saturday because who doesn't like finding great things for a small price. Point being I got a number of things that I wanted to show you all, including a tea pot which I will probably keep until I die even if it breaks, it is so darn pretty and I wanted to show you but the silly camera is chucking a hissy fit.

As I'm here I might as well tell you about my day, which was fairly crazy mostly because I have had 3 hours sleep and a lack of sleep tends to mean I loose the filter between my brain and mouth. Though the only way to explain that in thought a photo (see below)

Today my cousins came over for brunch. They were late so I had to wait an extra hour for food it, made me hangry. They stayed until about 2 then I organised my nail polishes (I have a lot) and cataloged them (weird right). I then painted my nails and watched supernatural with my sister. It was good.
